President / Founder

As a combat soldier in the Army, Jay appreciated at a young age just how well a team can function when all are performing in an environment of clarity, set expectations, and a well-defined mission.

Jay’s career has been multi-faceted, and has proven the effectiveness of hiring the right people and establishing a healthy work culture that includes: clear expectations, visible metrics, accountability, and process adherence. His track record with large, multi-unit international companies has demonstrated that significant growth and culture change can happen.

 

Adaptive Business Consulting was founded through the evolution of his passion for competition and his desire for high-level performance.

  • Early Recognition:
    • Top Soldier Award 1990: Awarded to the top first-year soldier.
    • Colour Guard: Competed and was selected to carry the flag at the opening of the National Assembly.
  • Transforming Retail Sales:
    • Pella Windows & Doors: Led an overhaul of the entire Retail Sales Division, resulting in a 300% increase in revenue and moving the region from 62/65 to 3/65 in sales revenue growth year over year during his tenure leading Alberta, Saskatchewan, and interior BC.
  • Elevating Performance and Culture:
    • Belron/Speedy Glass: Mandated and accomplished a complete overhaul of the performance and culture of Franklin Park, the largest volume Speedy Glass location in Canada. This success culminated in receiving the Calgary Herald’s Gold Choice Award as the best in their industry.
  • Strategic Consulting:
    • Adaptive: Founded in 2016 and incorporated in 2017, providing consulting services on strategic planning, human resources, recruitment, and high-performance culture establishment for companies ranging from local businesses to international corporations with 825 employees.

With nearly two decades of Human resources experience and extensive executive-level leadership experience, Chel has managed and led HR initiatives in diverse sectors and organisations, each facing its own distinct challenges. As a Human Resources professional, Chel has achieved diverse experience across union and non-union environments, Public and privately owned companies, Non-Profits, and Fortune 500 companies.

Chel is a graduate of the Human Resources program at Mount Royal University and a member of CPHR & SHRM.  She has an exceptional generalist background that bridges all serviceable areas of human resource practices. Her specialty is building and scaling HR departments from nothing based on their needs and vision. She does this while helping companies avoid common pitfalls and positioning the company for success in managing their greatest assets: their people.
